The history of ANAC, the National Association of Cinematographic Authors, dates back to the immediate post-war period – it was formally established on 11th February 1952 – when a profound sense of community brought together several of those artists and intellectuals who were engaged in the cultural reconstruction of the country. During its 70 years of activity, ANAC has battled for the civil liberties and the social growth of Italy expressing the great vitality of Italian authors. This is what we wish to express with the exhibition The long wave which takes the title of the documentary, also produced to celebrate the association’s seventieth birthday.
