Soundtrack Stars Award: the Music Collateral Prize winners

The Soundtrack Stars Award is assigned to the best soundtrack in the Official Competition at the Venice International Film Festival. A ‘collateral prize’ recognized by the Festival, unique in the industry, conceived and produced by FREE EVENT, in partnership with SNGCI and Cinecittà SPA, to enhance the fundamental role of music in cinema.

Since 2012, the award has been assigned by a special jury of experts, journalists and in some editions protagonists of the music industry, also paying tribute, with the ‘Critics Award’, to the greatest talents of the music composition for films, with the immense genius of Ennio Morricone, the excellence of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Alexandre Desplat, Nicola Piovani, Andrea Guerra, Giorgio Moroder but also to authors who paid special attention to the relationship between music and cinema, such as Guillermo del Toro, Ferzan Ozpetek and Gabriele Muccino.
