Press Conference: the Kinéo Award celebrates 20 years

This year Kinéo, the Venice International Film Festival prestigious collateral prize, crosses the milestone of 20 years. 20 intense years of recognition and participation by artists of Italian and international cinema.

In fact, established as a prize for Italian cinema voted by a prestigious Jury and by the audience to support the entire film industry, over the years has broadened its horizons by opening up to international cinema and audiovisual media, encouraging meetings between artists from all over the world. Over time it has included two important awards, interpreting the growing sensitivity linked to the protection of the environment and civil and human rights, the Green & Blue Award and the Movie for Humanity Award and also the Art Award (music, art, dance, literature) coherent with the Venice Biennale world. A lot of work has been done on international promotion, for example collaborating, to the week of events for the Honorary Award to Lina Wertmüller at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles and promoting (with the MHA) the film “Francesco” on the vision of Pope Bergoglio which aroused a worldwide echo.

Starting this year, the organization of the Kineo award will be supported by the qualified and stable collaboration of a leading company in film, television and music production, Riccardo Di Pasquale’s Fenix Entertainment, assisted by the consultant Daniele Orazi, an established professional in the audiovisual sector.

This precious collaboration will entail an undoubted and appreciable value to the strategic positioning of the Kineo prize in the context of the Venice International Film Festival official collateral events, and also in relation to the organization, to the selection of Italian and international artists and guests, to the management of public relations and press relations.
