Women Cinema Award

Women in Cinema Award – WiCA is an award presented by a group of women, all journalists, who have always been passionate about cinema and women empowerment. WiCA is an initiative created in order to pay homage to women’s talent in the national and international cinema world: actresses, women directors, authors, screenwriters, producers and industry professionals. Despite its being women centered, WiCA aims to also celebrate those directors
who showed a detailed attention to women, made them the focus of their stories or enhanced them with key roles in the development and production of their films and by doing that, they contributed to our daily fight for gender equality. The awardees are chosen amongst leading figures in the art of cinema and other similar arts, as representatives of different cultures and ways of bringing to life stories and characters. A special attention goes to personalities engaged in socially committed activities.
